Why I Built Lingua Agents

When I started teaching languages, one thing became clear very quickly: most learners do not struggle because they are lazy or incapable. They struggle because they simply do not get enough time to practise.

In many traditional lessons, learners study grammar, memorise vocabulary, and complete exercises, but when it comes to actually speaking, there is often too little time. Some learners need more repetition, some need more confidence, and many just need a safe place to try, make mistakes, and keep going until the language starts to feel natural.

That idea stayed with me for years.

As a teacher, I kept thinking about how powerful it would be if learners could practise more often, in a structured way, and without having to wait for the next lesson. Not random practice, but guided practice built around real teaching.

That is where Lingua Agents began.

Lingua Agents is a language-learning startup built around a simple goal: helping people use the language they are learning more actively and more confidently. I wanted to combine the structure of real lessons with the flexibility of AI, so learners could practise when they need it, not only when a teacher is available.

Today, Lingua Agents brings together different tools in one platform: AI-guided courses, a conversation coach, explainers and exercises, pronunciation practice, and live classes. Some learners use it for everyday communication, others for work, study, or professional development. The common thread is always the same: more practice, more confidence, and more real use of the language.

At the same time, this is still just the beginning.

Lingua Agents is growing, and there is a lot more to come. We will continue expanding our courses, tools, and languages, while also exploring new possibilities for the future, including more immersive learning experiences and more personal support..

But the heart of the project will stay the same.

Good language learning should help people communicate, not just study. It should help them speak, react, understand, and express themselves with more confidence in real situations.

That is why I built Lingua Agents, and that is where we are heading next.
